RepresentUs

RepresentUs had little national press recognition despite securing 130 transformative victories in democracy reform. DVMC helped establish their voice, setting them apart in the crowded democracy reform space and making their work omnipresent with billions of media impressions.

Case Study

ABOUT REPRESENTUS

RepresentUs is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization that serves as the nation’s largest grassroots anti-corruption group. Working collaboratively with conservatives, progressives, and everyone in between, they advocate strongly for crucial democratic bulwarks to stop political bribery, end secret money, and fix our broken elections.

A largely volunteer-run organization, their impassioned work has secured 197 transformative victories across the country. Focusing on state and local governments, they call for national voting standards by enacting laws on a widespread, grassroots regional level.

Their support for bills such as the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the American Anti-Corruption Act demonstrates their strong advocacy to overhaul lobbying, reform campaign finance and encourage political transparency across the American political party system. DVMC worked as an invaluable strategic and creative partner to their relentless work, playing an instrumental role in amplifying RepresentUs’ many campaigns at the state and local level around the country.

OUR
WORK

DVMC helped RepresentUs find its voice and footing, setting them apart from other pro-democracy organizations in an increasingly crowded social justice space and making their work omnipresent leading up to the 2020 Presidential election. We also serve as an invaluable strategic and creative partner, playing an instrumental role in developing and amplifying RepresentUs’ many campaigns.

We’ve helped execute over 9 campaigns that have collectively garnered over 7.4 billion press impressions and have directly impacted legislation, including bringing critical attention to Ranked-Choice Voting in NYC, which was credited as producing the most diverse city council in the city’s history. The campaigns have received some of the highest honors in the creative and PR industry space, including 3 Webby Awards, shortlisted for 4 Cannes Lions, and more in 2021.

Naked Ballots (2020)

Appearing naked drew humorous attention to the 'naked ballot rule' that demands ballots be exactly formulated in order to count in the election. DVMC helped ensure millions of Americans were warned about properly formatting their ballot to properly count their vote in the election.

Our first campaign featured the world’s biggest celebrities, including stars such as Tiffany Haddish, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler, Naomi Campbell, Mark Ruffalo, Sarah Silverman, and Sacha Baron Cohen’s iconic Borat character.
